Sophie Thompson

We are delighted to be able to offer Sophie's warm, gentle and enthusiastic interpretation of our award-winning Early Soundplay books.

 

As well as film credits including Harry Potter, Gosford Park, Emma and Four Weddings and a Funeral, Sophie has had a string of theatre successes with leading roles at the Royal Shakespeare Company and Olivier Award nominations in the West End. Sophie is currently reprising her role of Miss Adelaide for the Guys and Dolls In London. 

Sophie has also had many television roles including East Enders, more recently The Detectorists and in 2016 she is playing the role of Lizzie Capstick in ITV’s newest drama Jericho.

Recent success as the winner of Celebrity Masterchef reveals yet another dimension of her skills and her eagerly awaited cook book "My Family Kitchen" was published in September 2015. We also look forward to her first children's book which will be published in June 2016.

Rik Mayall

We had the pleasure of working with the late and great Rik Mayall on our -C/K series. Legendary voice actor Rik Mayall won an Emmy Award in 1997 for his Outstanding Voice-Over Performance as the voice of Toad in The Willows In Winter. He has also entertained with his narration of the Dr Seuss Collection and as the voice of Kehaar, the black-headed seagull, in the animated television series Watership Down. He very kindly agreed to read our Sound Steps To Literacy -C/K books so that you and your child can enjoy the books and read along with the helpful CD.
