The Art of Stories Festival @ Eden

on .

This half term (Saturday 24th May – Sunday 1st June) the Eden Project, already an arena of inspiration, will be opening its gates to a cohort of accomplished creative minds who have helped give us modern day classics such as The Beano, Horrible Histories, The Gruffalo and... You guessed it, Clickety Books!

Despite the star studded line up for the week – including Gruffalo illustrator Axel Scheffler and Beano comic artists Nick Brennan and Gary Northfield – the beauty of this event is that the focus remains very much in the hands, and minds, of the kids. Visitors will be invited to collaborate with one of the UK's best animators to create a giant, crowdsourced animated story. You can watch the finished project on the Eden Project's YouTube channel after 1st June.

You will also be able to catch Clickety Books in the Citrus Grove:

  • Monday 26 May: Craig Green will be reading marvellous stories from his own award-winning Clickety Books series (at 1pm, 3pm and 4pm). There will be plenty of fun and games too. The stories are chock-full of sound play, rhythm and repetition which are all very important for spoken language development. They also provide the foundation for the development of early literacy skills, for learning to read and spell. Warning: this session might get very silly indeed!
  • Sunday 1 June: More story telling from the fantastic folks at Clickety Books (1pm Only).
